Use Cases

School districts need reliable connectivity for learning, safety, and operations. As a STARLINK Authorized Reseller, we help districts extend network reach and resilience, ensuring uninterrupted learning, even in rural areas or during disasters.

Explore the ways STARLINK can help keep you connected…when other technologies can’t.

Location

Remote and Rural School Connectivity

Many school districts are in rural or geographically dispersed areas where fiber and reliable broadband are unavailable, and traditional deployments are costly and slow.

STARLINK delivers fast, low-latency Internet virtually anywhere, helping districts close connectivity gaps for:

  • Rural schools and annex buildings
  • Alternative learning centers
  • New campuses awaiting fiber construction

STARLINK enables districts to deliver consistent access to learning resources while maintaining centralized network management and security.

Instructional Continuity & Disaster Recovery

Weather events, fiber cuts, construction accidents, and power outages can instantly disrupt school operations. When connectivity fails, instruction stops, online testing is delayed, and critical safety systems may be impacted.

Zayo Education integrates STARLINK as a resilient, non-terrestrial failover connection, ensuring schools remain online even when ground-based networks are compromised. STARLINK can be deployed as:

  • Failover for Dedicated Internet Access (DIA)
  • A diverse SD-WAN path
  • A backup connection for district offices or data centers

With STARLINK, districts can protect instructional time and maintain operational continuity during emergencies.

Temporary Learning Environments

School districts increasingly rely on connectivity beyond permanent buildings – whether to support mobile classrooms, outdoor learning programs, career and technical education sites, or emergency response operations.

STARLINK delivers reliable Internet access for:

  • Temporary campuses and swing spaces
  • District command centers during emergencies
  • Field-based instructional or support programs

Wherever learning happens, Zayo, an authorized STARLINK Reseller, can help ensure students and staff stay connected.

STARLINK addresses some of the toughest challenges districts face—rural access, disaster readiness, and uninterrupted instruction. It’s a practical way to extend reliable connectivity wherever schools need it most.
